Don’t wait for Folks to Get Woke!: Hack 22 from the book LeapFrog by Nathalie Molina Nino
by Primera Muthoni
A quiet change is happening among women who have been helping each other for a long time in the background. This is happening in a world that often values competition over teamwork. This blog is for all the women who have been supporting each other behind the scenes because they do not want to say it out loud. We need to stop keeping things secret and create a community that works best when everyone helps each other and feels strong.
The author, who is a strong supporter of women, starts by recognising the many women who have helped their peers succeed without being noticed, maybe thinking it was something they did "on the side." It became clear that this secret support system, even though it had good intentions, was actually hurting things. Many women work alone because they do not want anyone to know about their efforts.
Nathalie says, "Since then, I have come to the conclusion that being covert about helping other women wasn’t serving anyone." The hack tells women to get over their fears and fully accept the idea of helping each other. It acknowledges that a lot of women may be keeping quiet, which keeps them working alone and, in some cases, suffering.
The main point is clear: It's time for women to come out, proudly say they will support other women, and actively look for people who feel the same way. "Are you a woman open to learning and relearning new things?" is a very important question that the author asks her readers. This sets the stage for a call to action, which tells women to not only help each other but also keep an open mind to learning and growing all the time.
"So get out there, find your people, and make a community that works for - and with - you," The hack ends with a strong call. The focus is on how important it is to build a community that supports each person and works with their unique needs and goals. It's a call for women to break down the walls of silence, talk to each other freely, and work together to make a bigger difference.
The world is stronger when people speak with one voice. This blog is a call for women to accept the things they have in common, be there for each other, and work together to create a community that values each person's unique strengths. In this call to action, women are encouraged to be themselves and build a network that supports growth, strength, and the success of all.
This hack is for all the women out there who have always supported other women and were too worried to come out and say it out loud. To those who tell themselves that this is something I do on the side.
The author says, “ Since then, I have come to the conclusion that being covert about helping other women wasn’t serving anyone. Many women out there were no doubt holding back as well; as a result, too many of us were working in silos, limiting our ability to help others and , in the worst case, suffering alone.”
Are you a woman who loves other women and supports them? But again, are you a woman who is open to learning and relearning new things?
“So get out there, find your people, and make a community that works for - and with - you.
