7 ways small Businesses can transform their businesses using AI

 By Primera Muthoni

Last Tuesday, December 5, 2023, I had the amazing opportunity to speak to ladies at the Female Future Alumni. They had just a few questions, and one major question was, What is AI, and how could they use it to improve their careers and businesses?  In the fast-paced, tech-driven world of today, small companies are becoming more aware of how artificial intelligence (AI) could change the way they do business. AI has a wide range of uses that can speed up processes, make customers happier, and help businesses grow.

Here are a few ways  small businesses can use AI to stay at the top of their game.

  1. AI-Based Customer Service

Great customer service is the key to any business's success, and more and more small businesses are realising how important AI-powered robots are to achieving this goal. These smart virtual helpers are great at answering customer questions and giving them quick answers and personalised help 24 hours a day, seven days a week. By automating simple chores, small businesses not only make customers happier, but they also free up employees to work on more complex and creative projects. Some examples are ChatGpt, Google Bard, and virtual assistants

  1. Campaigns for personalised Marketing

Utilising AI, small businesses can make marketing plans that are specifically designed to reach the people they desire. When AI systems look at customer data, they can divide users into groups, learn what people like, and make marketing better. Targeted deals and personalised ideas get more people to interact and buy, which is good for business.

  1. Better sales projections

A small business needs to be able to make correct sales forecasts in order to get the most out of its goods and resources. The AI can very accurately guess what sales will happen in the future by looking at past data, market trends, and how customers have behaved. These facts help small businesses make smart decisions and be ready for when customers need change.

  1. Simplification of a Financial Analysis

Financial research and keeping the books can take a lot of time and lead to mistakes. Tools powered by AI can automatically analyse financial data, keep track of expenses, and make reports. Small businesses can learn a lot about cash flow, planning, and how their finances are doing, which helps them make better financial choices.

  1. Inventory management that works well

Inventory management systems that use AI can change how much stock they keep based on forecasts about how much will be needed. Small businesses can better control their inventory costs and run more efficiently overall by getting rid of goods that they don't need and making sure they never run out.

  1. Safeguarding against fraud

Theft can happen even in small businesses, and AI can be a huge help in finding and stopping it. AI-powered fraud detection systems can look at transaction trends and identify outliers. This keeps businesses from losing money and protects their image.

  1. Giving HR and recruitment more power

Small businesses need to find the right people to work for them if they want to do well. AI can help screen candidates, look at papers, and run first interviews, which saves time and money during the hiring process. HR teams can focus on getting to know future workers and making sure the workplace is a good place to work.

In conclusion, as AI technology keeps getting better, small businesses have a great chance to grow by taking advantage of what it can do. AI gives small businesses a lot of ways to improve their operations and gain a competitive edge. These include improving customer service, personalising marketing campaigns, optimising financial analysis, and simplifying HR processes.

AI is not just a luxury for big companies; for small businesses that want to succeed in the digital world of today, it is a game-changer. Small businesses can find new ways to be more innovative, productive, and successful by using AI in a smart and responsible way.
