Girlfriend, I want to tell you these things from my heart

 Dear Girlfriend,

This is an open letter to all women who feel entitled to what the world has to offer instead of working hard for it. To women that have lost themselves in a world that does not value self retrospection, self-love, and taking personal responsibility.

Firstly, I want to invite you to live a life of abundance. There is enough for all of us and the moment you understand this, the world and all its goodness will begin to flow. Girlfriend, we are not in competition with each other. We just are not the same. Please find it in you to be better than the person you were yesterday; that is where your focus should be. I might be in the same line of work as you, but look around at the millions of people in this world; there are enough resources for all of us, and I am simply not taking from what was yours, I am creating my value and earning from it. The moment you maintain that scarcity mindset, the more you will complain, settle for less, and never leave the cycle of hand-to-mouth living. There is nothing wrong with another woman’s success, instead, reach out to her and become a student. Jealousy and the feeling like she is taking what is yours will not take you anywhere.

Secondly, the mentality that because I'm a woman I should treat you a certain way despite you being full of bullshit is just unacceptable. No, I will not. I will hold you to a higher standard. I love women and supporting us to grow is my life’s mission. However, you have refused to grow. You have refused to develop yourself. You have remained stagnant with low self-esteem and low emotional intelligence.

You believe they know everything. Backbiting people and making others feel less of themselves is what you do best; girlfriend, it only speaks more into who you are. The truth is you lack purpose and a vision and that is why you constantly think that people are treating you unfairly. You also sit around expecting that a charming prince will come by and give you what they have been searching for. Girlfriend, it is your job to pick yourself up and realize that you need to develop yourself as a woman and stop blaming others for the circumstances you created. Everyone sees through you and your lack of purpose and a vision and no, we will not follow your lead. Didn't you hear that we become like the closest people that we associate with? That is why we shall not scratch with chickens; we instead prefer to fly with eagles. Instead, look to develop yourself and live an intentional life. Remember, you need not look for perfection. Take it one day at a time and you will eventually find yourself flying with the eagles.

Lastly, have enough self-love to walk out of relationships and friendships that do not meet your needs or support your value system. Let me start with a question: do you have a value system? That guiding compass that reminds you that you are worth something more than cheap sex, five minutes of companionship, and disrespect? Girlfriend, you are worth so much more. Go back to the drawing board and rethink everything. In starting this journey, you will need to be very honest with yourself and then forgive yourself. Trust me, you will be just fine. You deserve friendships that build you and make you better; people that shake you back into a world of reality and help you step up to the person God still intends for you to be.

Girlfriend, take some time and really think about your values, purpose, and vision. I will wait for you on the other side.

With love,

Your realistic girlfriend.
